Nearby the Horizon easter egg is an island with a bot making a blocky T. This references 2020’s Dreams on PS4, developed by Media Molecule. The game is about making assets and even entire games from scratch. On the right-hand side at the start of GPU Jungle is a lower platform of a Bot dancing in an orange head with blue jorts. This references 1996’s Crash Bandicoot on the PS1, developed by Naughty Dog and often considered the PlayStation’s earliest mascot-type character. The dance is the Crash dance created for Japanese ads of the game (specifically the modified one from the N-Sane Trilogy on PS4), while the mask is Aku Aku, Crash’s protector.

As someone that has owned and loved every single PlayStation console from the PS1 to the PS Vita and PS4, it was an absolute treat to play Astro’s Playroom. tr88 don’t hide the fact that I’m a genuine PlayStation fan, wearing PS symbol t-shirts often and sporting my Crash Bandicoot controller holder — it’s not really a secret. So getting to literally dig up fossils of the past and then have the physical representations of my nostalgia gamified within a game even further was just magical. All of these artifacts are obtained after you defeat the T-Rex bosses and see the game credits. They don’t count towards Dude Raider for the platinum, but beating the bosses and picking up all 4 of these awards the DLC trophy Play Has No Limits!
Should You Try Out Astro’s Playroom In 2025?
Puzzle Piece 1/4 – From the start of the area, go to the left and go through or around the igloo to find this puzzle piece. Artifact 1/2 “PS Move Sharpshooter”– After jumping up through the two slanted glass panels, jump to the left to an area with a wooden box with a diamond on it. You can replay all levels at any time to grab your missing items.
Besides this, it is worth mentioning that such a jump can be combined with a Spin and a Beam Glide to create a huge amount of distance, thus opening up even more possibilities for the player. Honestly, the biggest complaint I have with Astro’s Playroom is just that it’s too damn short. I finished all 16 of the main levels, the final area, and completed each of the speed run trials in around three hours. That’s not very much content — but I still have well over half of the game’s collectibles left to discover, which could easily double the amount of time spent if I wanted to go for the platinum.
